Fiberstars coextrudes pure optical fibers with flexible PVC
tubing. Only light is transmitted through the fibers—no
heat, ultraviolet radiation or electricity.
Color can be transmitted into the fiber through a dichroic
color wheel in the illuminator. The fiber optic cable is flexible
and retains its flexibility over time. The PVC tubing is treated
with fungicides and U.V. inhibitors for weather resistance.
Multiple ends of fiber optic cable can be connected to an
illuminator depending on the number of fibers per tubing or
diameter of the large core fiber cable.
There are two kinds of fiber optic cable, multi-strand
and large core fiber. Both are able to accomplish two types
of application: Side-emitting and End-emitting.
“Fiberstars” fiber optic cables are used in
conjunction with “Fiberstars” U.L.. listed illuminator.
Actual light output levels vary with the type of illuminator,
the length and diameter of fiber optic cable.
